Gorgeous as ever, Brooke Burke-Charvet talked to Shape Magazine about being healthy and staying fit for their September issue!
“Crusing with my family with an all you can eat 24/7 weeks before my cover shoot was not a good combo,” the mother of four tells Shape, “But it just goes to show you that a little bit of discipline is possible; I had to find the balance between indulgence and discipline, but you can be healthy anywhere you go!”
Burke-Charvet likes to eat fresh and healthy, so her typical diet consists of a lot of fish, meat, and vegetables. She loves to cook so she avoids processed foods, always tries to keep it fresh, and makes smart choices
As for fitness, she says, “One of my favorite quotes was: if the climb is too easy, you might be climbing up the wrong mountain.” A few of her favorite exercises include a Pilate’s move, side crunches, planks, and a standing dumbbell row.
“I’m still teaching my Booty Burn class, which I love and doing a little bit of SoulCycle. I think if you’re not sweating, you’re not working out hard enough,” she revealed.
At the conclusion of her classes, she practices quiet meditation. “We forget to simply be still, which is so valuable,” she tells Shape. “It’s not just about burning and sculpting—it’s about checking in with yourself and believing that you’re stronger than you think you are.”
Most importantly, the actress notes, “You have to get your physicals. You have to be responsible. You have to take care of yourself.”
