Welcome back! Red Carpet Roxy had a very busy evening last night, decked out in my new, beautiful necklace, compliments of Kenneth Jay Lane, as I attended the Season 2 premiere of AMC’s and Sony Picture Televisions, “Breaking Bad.” at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood. The experience was fantastic, as my seat was directly nestled amongst the cast & producers, 3 seats away from one of the stars of the show and Emmy Winner Bryan Cranston, so I was able to see and hear their immediate reactions. Believe me, there were lots of laughs, and a fair amount of screams! You have to see this show-not only is the acting great, especially watching Bryan Cranston’s character, Walter, completely unravel, but it will also make you feel like your life really isn’t that bad. In fact, AMC President Charlie Collier joked as he introduced the show that a critic had facetiously dubbed it the feel good show of the year. After the lights came up, all I could say was, “Woah” like I had just gotten off some crazy roller coaster, the kind where you feel like your stomach bottoms out. As soon as the lights came up, the cast especially Mr. Cranston, received a standing ovation. Bryan then joked that we should all have a drink at the party. Well said!
We then headed over to the after party at the Velvet Margarita where we noshed on tasty Mexican food and potent Margaritas. Among those in the crowd were Golden Globe Winners Peter Fonda, who had a big smile on his face as soon as he saw the spread of food, and “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm cocktailing with his girlfriend, star of “Kissing Jessica Stein,” Jennifer Westfeldt. And yes ladies and some gentlemen, Jon Hamm is even more handsome in real life than he is on the small screen.
Also reveling in the festivities were actors RJ Mitte, Aaron Paul, Krysten Ritter, Betsy Brandt, and Dean Norris who plays a desensitized cop, married to a shoplifting anal, crazy wife who gets a lot of pleasure out of body parts & gore. Red Carpet Roxy also chatted with the Executive Producer of “Breaking Bad,” Oscar Winner Mark Johnson, who was very excited about the premiere. Also on hand was Mayhem Pictures Executive and Producer Gordon Gray, who also told me that he was very impressed with the show and is looking forward to this season.
You have got to see this show. It premieres on Sunday, March 8th at 10 PM/9 C on AMC. Trust me, you will feel bad about complaining about anything after that!
