Animal testing is not a new concept in the beauty industry. Corporations such as L’Oreal have practiced animal testing, and Chinese law requires it.
And now the United States Safe Cosmetics and Personal Care Products Act is up for vote in Congress, which would require animal testing in the US if it is passed. That would mean 11.5 million animals’ lives would be unnecessarily sacrificed in the name of beauty. Not only is it cruel, but it is an archaic, out-of-date practice that isn’t needed to make safe, high-quality beauty products. There are so many cruelty-free alternatives. And countries such as India, the European Union and Israel have started banning or banned animal testing. And now you have the chance to make a difference in the lives of these animals.
