The 2011 Met Gala, or the Superbowl of Fashion as I like to call it, was held last night in NYC. The night’s honoree was Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, who also designed both of Kate Middleton’s wedding dresses this past weekend. No doubt the honor was well deserved. Here are my favorite looks of the evening:
Kate Middleton isn’t the only Middleton to change for this evening “knees up” at Buckingham Palace. Little sister and Maid of Honor, Pippa, slipped out of her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen column dress and into this gorgeous emerald green Alice Temperely gown.
t is now nighttime in London and the party is only just beginning for William and Kate who are celebrating with a reception thrown by Prince Charles. The Duchess of Cambridge has already changed into her second wedding outfit-also designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. It is a strapless white satin gazar evening gown and a white angora bolero cardigan.
OMG! What a gorgeous wedding had by the royal family this morning! It was every bit worth waking up at 2 AM PST to watch all of the pomp and circumstance as Prince William took Catherine Middleton as his lawfully wedded wife. And no doubt Catherine (now called the Duchess of Cambridge) looked stunning in her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen-designed lace embellished wedding dress. But, if I may, my pick for the Look of the Week was none other than the Duchess’ younger sister and bridesmaid, Pippa Middleton. She blew everyone away in a Sarah Burton column dress!
