VIDEO: DARLING COMPANION PREMIERE GOES TO THE DOGS

Last night I attended the Darling Companion premiere at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, and so did some of the most adorable and adoptable furry friends. The Amanda Foundation, one of the best animal rescue organizations in Los Angeles, brought many of their available dogs to this animal-friendly event. And the guests, sipping Patron cocktails, were loving the pups! How could they not? In fact, LA City Councilman Paul Koretz presented the cast and crew from the film with SPC Certificates of Appreciation and declared Friday, April 20th Darling Companion Day!

RED CARPET ROXY’S “RED ALERT” OF THE WEEK-BAN PUPPY MILL SALES

LA City Councilman Paul Koretz, introduced a motion this past week that would ban the sale of puppy mill & kitty mill animals at pet stores across the city. He wants to enact this piece of legislation in order to curb the widespread problem of pet over population in Los Angeles. By ending this practice, he hopes that it will make room for other adoptable pets, like those suffering in the overcrowded city shelters, the opportunity to find homes.

RED CARPET ROXY’S “RED ALERT” OF THE WEEK-LA PET STORE LAW

Just this past week, the Los Angeles City Council voted 12-2 in favor of a law that would ban the sale of commercially bred animals in pet stores. Instead, pet stores must sell rescued pets from animal shelters, registered rescue groups, and Humane Societies.
