Hurricane Irene has come and gone. And because of the preparedness of the government and citizens in the affected areas, there was a relatively low number of human causalities. Also, many evacuation centers along the Eastern Seaboard accommodated both humans and their pets, a far cry from the days after Hurricane Katrina, when so many lives were lost.
