No doubt the 2014 FIFA World Cup Games have been extremely exciting and highly anticipated. And Brazil is an amazing country to host these soccer matches. But there are reports surfacing that some of the Brazilian cities where the games will be played-including Recife-are calling on authorities to “remove” dogs from the streets and beaches.
Oftentimes, the fate of the dogs isn’t positive and turns into a cull, much like what happened in Sochi during The Winter Olympics. Humane Society International is in Brazil trying to convince the mayors of Recife and other host cities to promote the well-being of these animals while also making sure the general public is safe.
