Last night’s telecast of the 61st Annual Emmy Awards was a dramatic improvement from last year’s all time low ratings. This year the numbers were up by 10% in key demos with a ratings/share of 4.2/11, only beaten out by Sunday Night Football (Dallas Cowboys vs. NY Giants) which had 8.7/22. The big winners of the night were HBO for the ninth straight year as the most honored channel, AMC’s Mad Men which took home awards in the Drama Series and Writing for a Drama categories, and NBC’s 30 Rock which was awarded Emmys in the Comedy Series, Alec Baldwin for Actor in a Comedy, and Writing for a Comedy. Host and one of the stars of How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris garnered high approval from the viewing audience. Here is the list of winners:
