SCARLETT JOHANSSON IS COMING TO TV

Those who know Scarlett Johansson strictly in the context of her movie presence are going to have to re-think their entire ScarJo perception. The actress is shifting gears from the silver screen to the television screen in an upcoming limited series The Custom of the Country for Sony TV, based on the 1913 novel of the same name by Pulitzer Prize winner Edith Wharton.

The series itself is only set to air eight episodes, but if cable or premium networks like what they see, Scarlett may have a much broader television arc. She’s set to play an ambitious Midwestern woman who navigates and ascends New York’s social ladder with ruthless zeal, but her ambitions may bring her both her successes and her undoing. British screenwriter Christopher Hampton is the lucky man tasked with bringing Wharton’s words to the modern world, and bringing ScarJo into our lives on a weekly basis. Will you watch Scarlett on the small screen?
