Red Carpet News

The race is on! It’s not only campaign time for our government, but also, in Hollywood. The studios are showcasing some of their top contenders for awards season. And last night, Warner Bros. Pictures celebrated one of their high-grossing films this year, Crazy Rich Asians.

Crazy Rich Asians

It is the first studio film in over 25 years since 1993’s Joy Luck Club to feature a nearly all Asian-American cast. After opening in August, the romantic comedy, which was made for $30 million, has grossed over $200,000,000 worldwide.

The story centers on Rachel Chu (Constance Wu), a Chinese-American Economics professor who travels to Singapore with her boyfriend Nick Young (Henry Golding) for a wedding. She soon learns that her man is not only uber-wealthy, but that he is the most-desirable, eligible bachelor in the country. And he doesn’t have a shortage of women who want to be with him, and who are determined to take Rachel down. Yikes!

Henry Golding

And influencers, media, celebrities, and some very well-dressed guests all came together at the newly remodeled Crustacean restaurant in Beverly Hills to toast the cast and movie. And speaking of the cast, stars Henry Golding, Awkwafina, Harry Shum Jr., and Michelle Yeoh were all in attendance for the festivities.

In addition to the flowing bubbly, Crustacean’s mixologists were on hand creating craft cocktails. And guests also dined on some of the restaurants most classic dishes, including lobster and crab dumplings, garlic noodles, and tuna wontons. So tasty!

And Golding couldn’t have been nicer, posing for photos with guests and chatting up the whole room. He was elated that his hit film has had more “longevity,”  as people are still talking about it, than he could have ever imagined. And next for him? He is heading back to London to shoot Toff Guys with Guy Ritchie, his “dream director.”

Have you seen Crazy Rich Asians? If not, will you?
