If you love sexy, sophisticated and modern classic dresses, chances are you are probably a fan of contemporary label Black Halo. I know I am! Designer Laurel Berman’s gorgeous designs have been one of my go-to’s for red carpet events for a while. And I recently chatted with designer about her favorite summer style trends, who she would love to dress in Hollywood and the three pieces of clothing you should have in your closet right now.

RCR: What are your favorite Summer Style trends?

LB: My favorites are crop tops and high-waist shorts and pants, graphic prints, glove leather in warm summer colors, stripes and cut outs.

 

RCR: What 3 pieces of clothing should every woman have in her closet for the summer?

LB: The perfect white T, a crochet knit dress and bikinis sold as separates to ensure a flattering fit.

 

RCR: Can you describe the type of woman you are designing for with Black Halo?

LB: She is a fashion savvy career woman ages 20-50 who is looking to dress confidently chic yet sexy.

 

RCR: What are some of the new exciting things going on with Black Halo?

LB: The growth and expansion of our evening collection, Black Halo EVE by Laurel Berman. Also, we are also working on some exclusive collections with our current retail partners.

RCR: Who would be your dream Hollywood celebrity to dress?

LB: Definitely Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Lawrence and Michele Obama!

 

RCR: What article of clothing can you not live without?

LB: The perfect little black dress!
