Last night SNL’s Andy Samberg was the moderator between environmentalist Simran Sethi and global warming skeptic Phelim McAleer at the spirited The Darker Side of Green debate sponsored by Lexus at the Palihouse in West Hollywood. And what a party! In fact, the fire marshall almost shut the whole thing down because people were swarming the door and crowding the sidewalk trying to get inside!
The soiree was a blast-Paul Sevigny spun a mix of hip-hop and dance tunes and the Patron cocktails flowed which got people into the groove. Eco-friendly celebs like Ashton Kutcher (sans Demi), sushi-loving Jeremy Piven, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy who was scanning the room looking for ladies, held court in the VIP area, while the Real Housewife of the O.C. Gretchen Rossi and boyfriend Slade Smiley proudly showed off pictures of Rossi’s new line of affordable purses, sold exclusively at Shop NBC.
I had the opportunity to chat with the hilarious Samberg who filled me in on his moderator “prep,” his take on Lebron James going to Miami, and other funny bits:
One Tree Hill’s Sophia Bush who is passionate about environmental issues, gave some of her favorite recycling tips:
And Oscar winner Adrien Brody spoke about why it is important to him to save the environment and why he chose the role of Royce in the upcoming Predators remake:
