“THE LAZARUS EFFECT” PREMIERES AT THE TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

And while we are on the topic of Bono, check out the latest video from (RED) about the AIDS crisis in Africa. Bono, along with celeb pals like Gwen Stefani, Penelope Cruz, Christy Turlington Burns, Hugh Jackman, Julianne Moore, Javier Bardem, Benicio Del Toro, and others have all banded together to be a part of this PSA and campaign called “The Lazarus Effect.” The basic premise is that an AIDS stricken individual living in Africa can receive 2 pills a day-the equivalent of 40 cents-which enables them to remain alive and keep the disease in check. Without this essential ARV medicine, they are most likely going to live a shortened and much more debilitating life, thanks to the progression of the disease.

And in fact The Lazarus Effect documentary just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last week, and was attended by the band members of U2 as well as other celebrity guests. Check out the PSA below:
