Sadly, another Golden Girl, Rue McClanahan, passed away this morning at New York Presbyterian Hospital due to a stroke. She was 76 tears old and had already beat breast cancer in 1997, and had a heart bypass in 2009. Most remembered for her Emmy Award winning stint on the Golden Girls aka the original Sex and the City as sassy, sexy Southern Belle Blanche Deveraux, Rue’s passing leaves only Betty White as the remaining cast member from the show. So in honor of the late Rue McClanahan and Blanche Devereaux, here are a few of my fave Blanche quotes from the Golden Girls:
“There is a fine line between having a good time and being a wanton slut. I know. My toe has been on that line.”
“He is so sophisticated and charming and rich and handsome. He fairly screams Blanche. At least, he will when I’M through with him.”
“I swear with God as my witness, I will never pick up another man!… in a library… on a Saturday… unless he’s cute… and drives a nice car… Amen”
