MY MOM, THE STYLE ICON FOR MOTHER’S DAY

OK, be honest. How many of you are still scrambling to find your Mom the perfect Mother’s Day gift? Have I got a great suggestion for you:聽My Mom, The Style Icon.

What started out as a successful blog is now a lovely book with photos of style-savvy Moms spanning decades. It not only goes to show that our Moms were once (and possible still are) fashion-forward, wearing everything from daring miniskirts to barely there bikinis, and sporting the latest and greatest hair, makeup, and accessory trends. But also, it reinforces the idea that these were the ladies who were and are our true fashion heroes.

I can remember going through my own mother’s seemingly endless closet when I was “knee high to a grasshopper” (one of her favorite sayings-she is a Southern Belle after all), and slipping on a pair of her groovy python platform sandals-so hot!-and throwing on a 70’s era belted sweater coat that Nicole Richie would kill for now. As I played around in her oversize (to me) clothes, I wondered “will I ever be this cool?” I am still asking myself that! I love you, Mom! Happy Mother’s Day 馃檪

Hi- I am Fran’s cousin. Ask her about Kelly and Judy. My mom and I were talking yesterday and Fran’s name came up..she said she’d really like to hear from her so I said I’d do a websearch. How easy it was! Are you really her daughter? Please tell her hi and if she can, write! Judy and I and my mom would love to catch up.
