MANY CHANGES AHEAD FOR NYFW

Mercedes Benz and New York Fashion Week has been like peanut butter and jelly….until now. Come the Fall/Winter 2015-2016 shows in February, Mercedes Benz will no longer be the title sponsor of NYFW, a relationship they have had together for almost a decade. But MB isn’t giving up on fashion as a whole. A spokesperson told WWD, “Our relationship with fashion is not ending, and we do support fashion globally.”

And that is not the only change happening around Fashion Week. After February, the collections will no longer be shown at Lincoln Center, but rather at an undisclosed location in downtown NYC. This could also mean multiple points, not just one centralized venue. And IMG, the entity which owns NYFW, is in final negotiations to obtain MADE Fashion Week, based at Milk Studios. If the deal happens, it would become effective in September and the partners of MADE-Mazdack Rassi, Jenné Lombardo, and Keith Baptista-would stay on as consultants. Lots of shake-ups in th fashion world. What do you think of all of the changes?
