Moet champagne flowed and Samantha Ronson DJed (and of course had her galpal, Lindsey Lohan by her side) as we watched eagerly on the huge (I’m talking like 8 feet long!) monitors scattered throughout the venue. We shared our evening with my friend, Gilles Marini (hottie from the “Sex and the City” movie and new contestant on “Dancing with the Stars”) and his beautiful wife, Carole. We watched as “Slumdog Millionaire” swept the awards. Then came the Oscar for best lead actor and we were all sure it was going to Mickey Rourke, that is everybody except Gilles. He called the winner as Sean Penn, and the card was read and the rest is history! Bravo Sean!
I then danced, mingled, and partied the night away, chatting with guests like the ravishing Padma Lakshmi from “Top Chef,” who told me that she was thrilled about “Slumdog Millionaire” sweeping the awards. She told me that she watched the awards from her hotel room and she arrived at the party ready to have a good time. In fact, I almost forgot about the shooting pains that my stiletto Louboutins and Manolos had caused me. Oh, what a night!
