Funkshion fashion week in Miami has officially began and what better way to kick off the festivities than with a celebrity filled private jet carrying beautiful dresses for a fashion show? And that is exactly what happened yesterday morning when the all purpose luxury membership service, Fame Route, launched its premiere flight on a private jet from New York to Miami Opa-Locka airport carrying R&B star Deborah Cox, top fashion designers Richie Rich and Nicole Miller, in honor of the American Heart Association’s 2nd Annual Red Dress Fashion Show on October 15th at the Setai in South Beach. Also on hand were the coveted Red Dresses which will be modeled tonight in the AHA Red Dress Show. Always entertaining, when I asked Richie Rich his thoughts in flying Fame Route compared to a commercial flight, he retorted, “It’s like comparing a bus to a Mercedes, a Rolls, or a Bentley! Woosh!” Nicole Miller enjoyed the bloody Mary’s while at 39,000 feet while swapping funny stories with RR and others on the plane. Nicole Miller hosted a press event at her store on Collins last night, followed by a colorful presentation of the A*muse, the latest collaboration between Pamela Anderson and Richie Rich, at the Setai. Think very colorful, playful designs in the Heatherette vain for which Richie Rich was so well known.

The line also included a vast array of lounge wear for both men and women. Many pieces had accents like fringe and checks, for those days after long nights of partying in Miami!

After the show, we headed to the W South Beach (the hottest venue in Miami right now-there are scantily clad mermaids in oysters and on cubes above the pool dancing seductively while various videos are projected on a globe shaped screen floating in the huge pool) where Peta (whom Anderson has supported for years) had a benefit dinner in honor of Pamela & Richie-complete with veggie kabobs, mushroom ravioli, and molten carrot cake. After that we headed to the after party at the W where Richie and his crew danced until the wee hours of the night.
