Dita Von Teese unveiled her first fashion collection and hosted a party in honor of it at DECADES on Melrose this past week. The fabulous fete included Cointreau cocktails, makeup touch-ups and nail applications all inspired by the burlesque vixen. Think bold red lips, vampy nails, and strong drinks!

The clothes, almost all black, have a very seductive and vintage feel to them. And is comprised of four dresses and one very see-through trench. Not surprising, when you consider Dita’s basic tenant of her performance: “I like to push the envelope” is what she mentioned in between sips of her FIJI Water. She also let me know that from the initial conception to completion of her line was a couple of years, and that she wanted to start as a “capsule” collection to “test the waters out.” I liked the clothes, particularly the black and red rose print, floor-length dress, which was equal parts sweet and sexy, that Von Teese wore while mingling with guests in the room like E!’s Fashion Police resident style expert, George Kotsiopoulos. The prices range from $575.00 to $995.00 and the collection will be sold exclusively at DECADES in the US and David Jones in Australia.

Cameron Silver, the owner of DECADES, seemed elated to have one of his besties’ designs in-house. “You have to go upstairs and see the pieces!” is what he exclaimed as soon as I entered the sartorial soiree. And he, in fact, has definite reason to celebrate. In addition to being the king of vintage couture in Hollywood, his latest tome Decades: A Century of Fashion for which he is currently on a book tour, has already been sold-out! Bravo, Cameron!
