5 TIPS TO KEEP YOUR SKIN HEALTHY THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER

Summer is now full in swing, so it is time to re-evaluate how you are taking care of your skin. With increasing exposure to the sun, you need to remember two key things: SUNSCREEN AND MOISTURIZER. Although the summer is notorious for being the cause of unwanted zits and dryness, I am here to help to make your skin the least of your worries.

1. Sunscreen. Even though it’s a pain, it’s a necessity. If you are outside for only 20 minutes or a couple of hours make sure to still lather it on! No one wants sun spots on their face! And using sunscreen is the number one thing you can do to prevent it. If you have an oily complexion, try an oil-free sunscreen.

2. Using toner throughout the day, will reduce the amount of oil you are producing on your face.

3. Instead of using a heavy foundation for the summer, switch to a light tinted moisturizer. It will give you the glow you need as well as offer coverage in the areas that you need it.

4. Make sure you are exfoliating. Once a week is perfect for the summer. Exfoliating gets rid of the old skin cells and allows the new ones to remain healthy.

5. Don’t forget about the lips! There is nothing worse than sunburned lips. Trade in your regular lip moisturizer for one that contains SPF.

And here is a fun bonus tip, it is a mask to prepare your skin for the summer: mix one avocado with lemon and apply to your face. Let it sit for 15 minutes and your skin will be absolutely glowing!
