The Gilded Age was the vibe of this year’s Met Gala and I loved it!
“In America: An Anthology of Fashion” is actually a continuation of last year’s theme “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” with the dress code being gilded glamour and white tie. The time period covered in the Gilded Age generally encompasses right after The Civil War to right before World War I, 1870-the early 1900’s.
Think rich velvets, silks and satins. And more is more! Lots of embellishments, gold, and corsetry ruled the red carpet. And a few looks truly stood out (hello, Blake Lively!!) and captured the essence of the evening. And here are my favorite looks from the festivities.
Blake Lively in (convertible!) Versace
Winnie Harlow in Iris van Herpen
Emma Chamberlain in Louis Vuitton and Cartier Jewels
Kacey Musgraves in Prada
Nicola Peltz Beckham in Valentino
