MOTHER and Candice Swanepoel, 26, just announced the launch of their collaborative 90s-style-inspired capsule collection. As if we needed another excuse to relish all things 90’s. The Victoria’s Secret model offered her own fashion expertise to the line, which includes ultra high-waisted skinny jeans and cutoff shorts available in multiple washes. Candice and founders Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding worked collaboratively on every detail of the design, material selection and fit—all photographed in the newly released photos by the renowned Russell James.
Mothers2Mothers strives to prevent the spread of HIV from mothers to their children, ultimately increasing the health and wellbeing of all. To do this, they train and empower mothers afflicted with the disease, and help propagate information about health and support for HIV-pregnant mothers. The organization has reached over 1.2 million HIV-positive mothers in over nine countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Co-founders Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding found Swanepoel’s proclivity for 90s themed fashion a perfect fit for the line.
The first month of the year may be over, but 2015 clearly has much more to offer. Expect the line to hit stores around mid-February. Pieces will vary from around $165-$220, which is really nothing compared to a monthly latte budget.
Another year, another Victoria’s Secret model showing that beauty is definitely not skin deep. Will you buy pieces from this line?
