There’s a potential new girl…or boy in store for the New Girl actress Zooey Deschanel, whose reps confirmed is expecting her first child with producer boyfriend Jacob Pechenik. The actress, 34, and Pechenik, 42, have been dating since mid 2014, and first made their red carpet debut at the 2014 Emmys at the Nokia Theatre in LA, and have been strong ever since.
This comes after Deschanel’s 2012 divorce from Death Cab for Cutie lead vocalist Ben Gibbard, and her more recent split from screenwriter Jamie Linden. Deschanel has said “Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one.” And, coincidentally enough, that won’t be the only Deschanel baby on the horizon. Fellow actress and sister Emily is expecting her second child as well with husband and actor David Hornsby. That’s a convenient built-in play date if I’ve ever seen one. Both new family additions will join Emily’s 3 year-old son, Henry. Congratulations to both Deschanel clans!
