It’s official! It was just announced today that Nicolas Ghesquiere will succeed Marc Jacobs as the Creative Director of Women’s Collections at Louis Vuitton. Previously, Nicolas was the creative director of Balenciaga from 1997-2012. He was recently replaced by Alexander Wang.
The LV Twitter page welcomed its newest designer, stating,”Louis Vuitton is thrilled to welcome Nicolas Ghesquière as artistic director of the women’s collections.”And Ghesquiere couldn’t be more thrilled,”I am so happy. It is an excitement. A feeling that what I lived before was preparing me to do this.” He also went on to say,”My idea of what is luxury craftsmanship is savoir-faire, unique and secret ways of craftsmanship and [excellence].”
