STYLE360 made its return to NYC for Fall 2012 Fashion Week, and it rocked! I had so much fun hosting the three day fashion extravaganza!
The first day kicked off with Malan Breton’s Fantome show presented by BeautiControl. The inspiration for his women’s collection was Transparency, while the Malan Breton HOMME collection was modeled after 007 himself-James Bond. And not unlike his other collections, these designs were beautifully tailored with bold pops of color and amazing styling. And of course, reveals a playful side to his aesthetic, like putting a man in his version of capri pants.
Several of Malan’s celeb friends came out to support like Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen, and RHOC’s Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley.
Then came bebeBlack. The 1940’s-inspired show featured highly tailored pieces with poignant details-exaggerated shoulders, nipped waists, capri pants, knee-length dresses, and capes were all a part of this collection. Even the pin curled bangs designed by PR at Partners and the bold red lip from BeautiControl lent themselves to the era. Very feminine and strong collection alluding to a very powerful woman. This is my favorite bebe collection thus far. There are so many pieces that I want!
And I am not alone-Angela Simmons, Snooki, and Leigh Lezark from The Misshapes (who also mixed the music for the show) shared with me their love of bebe, and were quick to point out that they were dressed from head to toe in the label.
Sachika brought their unique flavor to STYLE360 for the last show of the day. This collection was also the best one I have seen from Sachika because it was so much more refined than in seasons past. Pieces like silk gowns, bandage dresses, lace and sequin embellishments, and in true Sachika form-bright colors ranging from red to blue all came down the runway, much to the excitement of the audience. America’s Next Top Model season 3 winner Eva Marcille shook her thing down the catwalk, as did Miss USA Alyssa Campanella and Miss Universe Leila Lopes. What also stood out was the short film, Ivanka-If We Ever Meet Again, that the Sachika sisters created which was shown at the beginning of their show. What do you think about it?
