TOP 5 HONEYMOON DESTINATIONS FOR SUMMER NEWLYWEDS

Congratulations to those who have already made it down the isle and those who will be tying the knot before the summer is over.  If you’re in need of honeymoon ideas or just looking for a nice romantic getaway, here are some travel destinations where love is always in the air!

Hotel Aman Venice

Hotel Aman Venice

Venice, Italy

Known to be one of the most romantic places in Europe (and the world), Venice should be at the top of every newlywed couple’s list. Take a classic Gondola Ride through one of Venice’s many canals while taking in the enchanting city and it’s architecture. Try to go at sunset for a breathtakingly beautiful and romantic experience.

Need a place to stay? Check in to the lavish, Hotel Aman, located on the Grand Canal. The hotel’s ornate rooms, spa treatments and gourmet restaurants will make it hard to leave. When you do leave, however, enjoy an intimate dinner at Il Ridotto, where couples can enjoy fine Venetian food and wine. The restaurant only seats 18 people total so be sure to make a reservation and arrive on time. After dinner, take a romantic stroll down the Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square) and enjoy the dreamy street lamps that reflect off of the lagoon. This trip will make you want to get married all over again!

Sugar Mill at Little Dix Bay

Sugar Mill at Little Dix Bay

British Virgin Islands

Clear, turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and over sixty islands make up the beautiful British Virgin Islands. Located in the Caribbean Sea, the British Virgin Islands offer plenty of things to do and see on this romantic getaway.

First step, book a stay at the Surfsong Villa Resort in Well Bay. This secluded beachfront resort is perfect for newlyweds looking for beauty and privacy. Enjoy one another in an open-aired villa or take a short scenic stroll to the main resort for dinner and socializing. You’ll even receive a complimentary island drink upon arrival.

If you’re feeling ambitious, hike or bike up Mount Sage National Park, the highest peak in all of the Virgin Islands located on the capitol island, Tortola. If just the thought of physically exerting yourselves is tiring, relax in Smugglers Cove, one of Torola’s most beautiful beaches.  For an elegant dining experience on the beach, look no further than the Sugar Mill at Little Dix Bay.

The River Seine in Paris

The River Seine in Paris

Paris, France

Romance and Paris, France are often synonymous in many of our minds. Why not take a trip this summer and find out why!

If you’re a dancing couple or just admire the art form, follow the music and head to the River Seine, where you’ll often find couples tangoing by the water. Couples can either partake in the dancing or sip wine and just watch.  No experience necessary!

If you’re in search of an aphrodisiac to set the mood of the trip, enjoy delicious oysters at L’Ecailler du Bistrot. Sit on the patio and people watch for a real Parisian experience.

Did you dream of going to Disney Land after your wedding since you were a child, but thought Paris was more sophisticated? Lucky for you, there’s a Disney Land Paris. With some European qualities, Disney Land Paris still boasts attractions similar to the U.S. amusement park such as: Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Discoveryland.  Newlyweds can unleash their inner child and feel like princes and princesses for a day (or two)!

French Quarter

French Quarter

New Orleans, Louisiana

Let the good times roll! One of the top ten romantic getaways in the U.S. due to its good eats, famous music, and southern hospitality, New Orleans is a great place to spend time as newlyweds. For a romantic dinner overlooking Jackson Square, check out Tableau restaurant. If you’re looking for a riverfront experience and delectable Mexican food, Galvez restaurant is the place for you. Have a sweet tooth? Stroll on over to Sucré for French macarons and chocolate. Don’t forget to share!

You can’t go to New Orleans without venturing through the lively French Quarter. Why not throw on the wedding gown and tux and relive your wedding day for fun?  This would be strange anywhere else, but in the French Quarter, you probably won’t be the only ones in nuptial attire. Before the trip is over, be sure to take a couples’ cooking class. Newlyweds will have a new collection of New Orleans inspired dishes to bring back home with them.

Key Largo

Key Largo

Florida Keys

Newlyweds don’t have to travel outside of the U.S. to find amazing romantic destinations.  The picturesque Florida Keys are perfect for couples who love sandy white beaches and quant beach towns. Stay in a spacious bungalow at the Little Palm Island Resort and Spa, where you can enjoy each other’s company over private dining and couples massages.

Tear yourselves away from the resort and bike through Old Town Key West. Look for a Paradise Bike Rental shop and rent a bike for two hours for only eight dollars! For diving couples, make your way to Key Largo, the diving capitol of the world, and enjoy coral reefs and colorful fish in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Feel like showing each other off, slip into something sexy and head to Little Room Jazz Club for an extensive wine list and live jazz music.  Socialize and dance the night away!
