Fashion got off to a bang yesterday starting with the kick off of STYLE360 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in the Big Apple. Fashionistas, models, designers, and celebrities arrived in full frontal fashion ready to take in the Abi Ferrin runway show. And Abi’s Genesis collection was amazing-inspired by the rain forests of Costa Rica and the Rain forest Recovery Initiative, the colors were bold and the look was stylish bohemian, from draped, tied blouses to silky rompers to flowing hand painted dresses, and accessorized with leather head bands, loose, wavy hair and chunky statement necklaces reminiscent of a color palette that one would find in nature.
At the after party at The Gates, I got the “Skinny on Fashion,” courtesy of Oral-B Pulsonic, with SNL’s Kenan Thompson who revealed to me that Abi Ferrin was his first fashion show and his skinny-that he loves his women in sleek & slinky numbers “that feel good to touch.” Shocking!
Spencer Grammer from Greek shared with me her love for big, chunky accesories and Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon told me that she had been seeing lots of Dynasty inspired fashions like bold shoulders and tailored cuts. I really had a great time chatting with the Toni & Guy team, who are the official hair & makeup sponsors of STYLE360, and they agreed with me that having great hair was just as important as having a super smile and also disclosed that they had been enjoying the Skinny on Fashion Cocktails provided by Rose’s Mojito Cocktails.
