TAYLOR SWIFT MAKES 3 BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS

During yesterday’s highly anticipated Yahoo Live Stream, Taylor Swift made not one, but three big announcements. Known for routinely releasing an album every other fall, fans definitely had some speculation about what the mysterious Live Stream would unveil, not to mention Swift has also been dropping hints on her Instagram account.

Taylor Swift

America’s sweetheart spent the hour telling tales of her inspiration and adorably awkward jokes, beginning with the announcement that she teamed up once more with Max Martin and ShellBack to collaborate on another song. “We’ve done songs like ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,’” she explained. “So we decided to get back together, to work together. That was a terrible joke,” Swift continued.

The collaborators wanted to create a song sounding like nothing any of them individually had done before. As for the topic, Swift knew exactly what she wanted to write about. “I’ve had to learn a pretty tough lesson in the last couple of years,” she said. “People can say what they want about us, at any time…and we cannot control that. The only thing we can control is our reaction to it. And I figure that we have two options. You can let it change you…option two, is you just shake it off.” With that, the song “Shake It Off” was released for the first time to her global audience, as Swift danced awkwardly, albeit happily, amongst the audience.

The 24 year-old musician followed up announcement of her new song by announcing that her first official pop album will be released on October 27th of this fall. The album, titled ‘1989,’ after Swift’s birth year is a “musical rebirth” inspired by the bold, unconventional sound of late 80’s pop. A polaroid photograph of Swift was used for the album’s cover art and as a bonus, the deluxe version of the album comes with one of five collectible photo sets containing 13 prints.

Last but not least, Swift’s final announcement was that of a music video for her newly released “Shake It Off.” Complete with fans, who have kept the secret for two months now, the video is a medley of professional dancers, and the priceless moves of Taylor Swift.  “In my mind, I wanted to tie this to this metaphor that I’ve been thinking about a lot because all I think about are metaphors and cats,” she admits. “My idea was that life itself, and who people actually are can be greatly reflected in how they dance… and I don’t mean how good you are. I mean your willingness to dance.”

Well Taylor is certainly willing to dance, and we love it! Watch the video and tell us what you think!
