SUNDANCE 2015 HOTTEST PARTIES LIST

This year’s Sundance Film Festival is right around the corner. Celebrities, media moguls, and aficionados are all packing their ski jackets and setting their sights on Utah in the next couple days. In addition to all of the much-anticipated movies this year, no one can forget the other half of that whole: the parties. Here’s a quick snapshot of some of the hottest Sundance parties that Park City has in store for its guests this weekend.

The Next Gen at Sundance Bash

Friday, January 23rd

O.P. Rockwell; 268 Main St.

The Hollywood Reporter is joining forces with the Hollywood Foreign Press this year, and commemorating with an exclusive cocktail party. This comes in conjunction with The Hollywood Reporter usurping Entertainment Weekly’s old, coveted spot as the official industry media publication for the festival through 2017.

  • • Co-hosted by Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group (which owns THR), and Theo Kingma, president of HFPA.

Tao

Friday, January 23rd—Sunday, January 25th

Tao is doing its part to keep up its reputation for the hottest spot in town for celebs and VIP’s. Last weekend, Brody Jenner was caught starting things off early with girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter as the two dined at TAO Bistro and treated guests to a DJ set with William Lifestyle.

 

Village at the Lift/Stella Artois Café

Friday, January 23rd—Sunday, January 25th

Open daily from 9am—3pm and 6pm—11pm

The weekend will kick off with the Stella Artois “Buy A Chalice, Help Save a Life” bash. The Indie Film Lounge will also host a number of After Dark events at this location, including a particular party with none other than Raekwon and Ghostface Killah from the Wu Tang Clan.

 

Kia Supper Suite by STK

Cast and crew from “Animals,” “Tangerine,” and “The Overnight” will all variously celebrate their weekends and cast parties here. In addition, Melissa Rauch (starring in this year’s film “The Bronze”) will dine here, as well as Cecily Strong of “SNL,” and also upcoming host of the White House Correspondent’s Dinner, on Friday night. On Saturday, the suite will host the Echoes of Hope Charity Gala Dinner.

  • • Saturday guests will include NHL legend Luc Robitaille and his fellow hockey posse, as well as Cuba Gooding, Jr., Taylor Kitsch, David Boreanaz, Jason Priestly, and Michael Vartan.
  • • Toni Collete and the “Glassland” crew will also be around on Saturday for their own dinner in conjunction with the other films and crews present.
  • • Kia Sorentos will shuttle the talent around town

Jeff Vespa’s The Verge List

Hosted by wireimage founder and festival photographer, Jeff Vespa, who tapped young Hollywood talent John Boyega for “Verge,” his digital/print marker. This isn’t a more casual affair specific to the filmmakers and the more intimate connections.

  • • Names associated: Olivia Cook, Tony Revolori, Shameik Moore, Keir Gilchrist, Thomas Mann, Chloe Rose, and Bel Powley.

 

“Dope” at the Acura Studio

Saturday, January 24th

A part for the film “Dope”—a coming of age teenage tale for a group of friends in Inglewood. Pharrell Williams produced music for the film, but won’t be in attendance.

  • • Forest Whitaker’s production company comes back strong this year with this film after taking home a prize for “Fruitvale Station” two years ago.
  • • The film also features A$AP Rocky in his acting debut, and also an appearance by Tyga
  • • Celebrity guests will include Eli Roth and Keanu Reeves on Friday, and Sarah Silverman on Sunday.

 

Grey Goose Blue Door

Friday, January 23rd—Tuesday, January 27th

In the same hotspot where Selena Gomez regaled crowds with an acoustic set at last year’s festival, this year will see a new wave of film parties for the film-minded, kicking things off with Nicole Kidman and “Strangerland.”

  • • Friday night will host an “End of Tour” party—a film in which Jason Segel, Jesse Eisenberg, Marnie Gummer, Sting, and Mickey Sumner all co-star.
  • • Kristen Wiig will be celebrating her two movies with the Grey Goose fam, too.

 

Cisero’s

Saturday, January 24th

306 Main St

The upstairs section has been officially dubbed the “Sabra Hummus House Independent Filmmaker Salon.” The hummus-themed venue will see programming from the NYC-based Darin Pfeiffer, while the downstairs will host unaffiliated events in the same spot where 50 Cent and One Republic threw parties in years past.

  • • Celebrity appearances will include Kevin Bacon, Ethan Hawke, Emile Hirsch, Hailee Steinfeld, Emily Mortimer, and Michael Shannon.

 

The Tinder Arts & Cinema Center

900 Main Street

Get ready to swipe because Tinder is coming to town! Films will be able to create a Tinder profile to connect with their fan bases. And  celebs such as Jennifer Connelly, Mark Duplass and Cillian Murphy will be on hand to swipe right or left!

 

The Sundance Institute’s Claim Jumper Space and Chase Parties

573 Main St

While Chase—an official festival sponsor—will host social events on the ground floors, the upper levels will showcase the Institute’s New Frontier virtual reality technology and art exhibits.

  • • “D Train” celebs Jeffrey Tambor, Jack Black, and James Marsden will all celebrate there.
  • • Adam Scott, producer wife Naomi, and Taylor Schilling will also party here to commemorate their collaborative project.
