SPRING 2011 STYLE360 RUNWAY REPORT DAY 2

After Day 1 of STYLE360 came to a close, it was only fitting that Malan Breton presented by Rado lead off the fashion calendar on Monday. And what a show it was. The 65 piece Chelsea Symphony played as models clad in his “American Sportswear Meets Paris Couture” themed fashions sashayed down the runway. It didn’t even matter that the fire alarms went off during the show-the audience was transfixed as genteel ladies and pretty boys showed the best of Malan Breton-bright, vivid colors like red, yellow, purple, and blue; exquisite tailoring, long sequined shorts, sheer blouses, and knee and ankle length skirts. And for the boys-ditto on the colors and tailoring, long shorts, vests, slim cut silk suits, and toggle button pea coats.

An this show wasn’t without supermodel royalty-Irina Pantaeva made this her return to the runway after a long absence from modeling. In fact, she told me after the show, “I’m baaaack!” So expect to see more of this catwalk queen. And Malan couldn’t have been happier. He used to sketch her wearing his designs, his dreams coming full circle.

United Nude also provided the fashion forward, modern, super sexy footwear for Malan’s show. Click here to see my favorite bootie. They rock and look amazing with dresses, leggings, jeans, and skirts. And the color…so unique. Love them!

Following Malan, Indian designer Rajvi Mohan showcased her menswear line. The clothes were very sharp, and tailored quite well. The color palette was neutral-toned-beige, brown, and khaki-with occasional stripes and a few pastels thrown in for good measure. Very reminiscent of the men in St. Tropez-a Euro going on holiday vibe. I really liked the navy blue leather bomber jacket below:

And this suit looked so good on the runway:

The final show was Indashio. Those of you unfamiliar with this former club kid/stylist who used to hit the nightlife scene along with Richie Rich, once you meet him, it is hard to forget him. His designs are very much his personality-loud, bright, and belong on the dance floor.

Think bold patterns, tight mini dresses, oversize sunglasses to hide from the paps, and lots of sequins. No muted colors here!

And the party continued after the show concluded, when Indashio bounced around the room entertaining sponsors like BeautiControl, Elle Jewelry, and SpaBerry (a spa designed for 2 people-tres intimate!) while dropping several F-Bombs, much to the amusement of onlookers. He was so content with his show at STYLE360 that he stayed an extra hour to conduct interviews and to chat with fans, which included some drag queens, and America’s Next Top Model alums CariDee English (who now sports a dark mohawk/mullet) and Jaslene Gonzalez, who both walked in the show.
