Watch out, Tyra. Looks like you are going to have some major competition come 2013!

Oxygen has just announced that super-supermodel Naomi Campbell will be starring in a new competitive modeling show on the cable network. The show will be called The Face and pits three teams of aspiring models against each other every week, until one catwalker reigns supreme and lands a national contract, thereby becoming “The Face” of that brand. Oh yeah, Naomi will be joined by two other famous supermodels, who will each mentor a team. Hmmm, I wonder who those two other gorgeous faces could be? I am sure Tyra is crossing her fingers that it isn’t Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford,or Kate Moss! Can you imagine?

Better yet, do you foresee Campbell getting angry and chucking a cell phone at an unlucky contestant? Oxygen Media Vice President of Original Programming, Rod Aissa stated in the upcoming show’s press release, “’The Face’ is a fresh new series that delivers all the elements our audience craves: fashion, beauty and drama.” One can only wonder….. Meanwhile, Naomi said in the same release, ““I am looking forward to working in partnership with Oxygen and Shine America to discover the next beautiful face of the modeling world. With ‘The Face’ the audience will get a real insider’s look at this exciting industry that has been so good to me,”

Will you watch this show when it airs in 2013?
