MARY STEENBURGEN: WARDROBE IS WHY I TOOK MY ROLE IN THE HELP

Actress and Ted Danson other half, Mary Steenburgen, let me in on why she agreed to act in the 1960’s drama, The Help. And it wasn’t just because of the amazing cast which included Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janney, and Sissy Spacek. It was about the clothes.

You see, Mary had just wrapped another movie in Tennessee and was ready to head back home. The producers of The Help sent her fabric swatches and sketches of her characters’ wardrobe. She thought they were “beautiful” and voila! She was hooked and on a plane to The Help set in Mississippi.

It’s funny how great clothes can change a woman’s mind!

The Help is rated PG-13 and opens in U.S. theaters on August 10, 2011.
