Ray Donovan star Liev Schreiber plays a real-life Rocky in his latest film, Chuck, which is in theaters now. And for this extremely physical role in which he portrays Chuck Wepner, an actual heavyweight boxer who fell prey to the pitfalls of fame, he had to roll with the punches, literally.
For the fight scenes, Schreiber wanted it to look as real as possible, so he had to actually spar with Pooch Hall, who plays Muhammad Ali. And at the film’s premiere, sponsored by St. Felix, Liev let me in on those fighting scenes, as well as how he avoided being sucked into the fame game, and how he co-parents his sons (Sasha and Samuel) with ex-partner Naomi Watts.
