THE SUPPER SUITE RETURNS TO SXSW

For the fourth consecutive year, leading LA-based special events group A-List Communications with its sponsor partners, Maestro Dobel® Tequila and The Family Coppola’s Diamond Collection wines, will bring its exclusive “Supper Suite” pop-up during the first week of the sprawling film, music and interactive festival in Austin, Texas.

For four days from March 11-14, 2017, “Supper Suite” will take over the acclaimed hospitality complex Summit rooftop and Basecamp, located at 120 W. 5th Street in Austin and host cast cocktail receptions and junkets for five official SXSW film selections—SMALL TOWN CRIME; THE HERO; DEALT; FLESH & BLOOD; PARIS CAN WAIT—with the schedule as follows:

Saturday, March 11

5:00PM- 8:00PM cocktail reception, Summit

SMALL TOWN CRIME, written and directed by Eshom and Ian Nelms.  Ian Nelms writes, “An alcoholic ex-cop (Hawkes) finds the body of a young woman and, through an act of self-redemption, becomes hell-bent on finding the killer but unwittingly puts his family in danger and gets caught up with several dark characters along the way.” Cast  includes Octavia Spencer (HIDDEN FIGURES, THE HELP); John Hawkes (AMERICAN GANGSTER); Robert Forster (JACKIE BROWN); Anthony Anderson (THE DEPARTED); Clifton Collins Jr. (PACIFIC RIM); Caity Lotz (THE MACHINE) and Daniel Sunjata (DARK KNIGHT RISES).

5:00PM-7:00PM cocktail reception, Basecamp

THE HERO, directed by Brett HaleySam Elliot (THE HULK) stars as  Lee Hayden, an ailing movie star who comes to terms with his past and mortality.  Also stars Laura Prepon (That 70’s Show), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), and Katharine Ross (THE STEPFORD WIVES; THE GRADUATE; DONNIE DARKO).

Monday, March 13

5:00PM – 8:00PM cocktail reception, Summit

DEALT (Documentary). Luke Korem’s portrait of Richard Turner. Sixty-two year old Turner is renowned as one of the world’s greatest card magicians, yet he is completely blind. This is an in-depth look at a complex character who is one of magic’s greatest hidden treasures.

The film also features Johnny Thompson, Max Maven and Armando Lucero, among many others.

Tuesday, March 14

4:00PM – 6:00PM, cocktail reception, Basecamp

PARIS CAN WAIT, the directorial debut of Eleanor Coppola.  Anne (Diane Lane, INSIDE OUT, MAN OF STEEL) is at a crossroads in her life. Long married to a successful, driven but inattentive movie producer, she unexpectedly finds herself taking a car trip from Cannes to Paris with a business associate of her husband (Alec Baldwin, THE BOSS BABY, STILL ALICE). What should be a seven-hour drive turns into a carefree two-day adventure replete with diversions involving picturesque sights, fine food and wine, humor, wisdom and romance, reawakening Anne’s senses and giving her a new lust for life.

Maestro Dobel® Tequila will offer premium open bar and specialty cocktails. The event series will highlight a number of The Family Coppola’s popular Diamond Collection wines, including Pavilion Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, and the winery’s flagship red Bordeaux blend, Claret. During A-List’s reception for Eleanor Coppola’s directorial debut, PARIS CAN WAIT, her namesake award-winning wine Eleanor, a blend of Cabernet and Syrah, will be showcased, known for receiving critical acclaim from Wine Enthusiast (90 Points) and Wine Spectator (93 Points).
