This sounds like the perfect birthday gift for animal lover Betty White. Her fellow cast mate, Jane Leeves, came up with the brilliant idea to adopt an orphaned elephant from the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya for Betty. I found this out at the Humane Society of the United States’ 25th Annual Genesis Awards, where the ladies from the cast of Hot in Cleveland were presenters.

Wendie Malick also let me in on how the cast gets along. “You almost don’t want too big of a break between shows, because we have such a happy, amazing place to go.” Leeves echoed her sentiment by saying, “We have so much fun! I pinch Wendie all of the time to see if it’s real.” Nice to know there are sets in Hollywood where people actually like one another!
