HELPING ANIMALS AFFECTED BY THE OKLAHOMA TORNADOES

In the wake of the recent devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma, not only were humans severely impacted by the trauma, but animals were as well. Many pets were displaced, injured and killed by these weather events. And sadly, the first tornado that hit Moore, OK. struck a livestock-rich area, slaughtering dozens of horses, cattle and other farm animals.

But that hasn’t stopped local rescues from around the country from stepping up and trying to assist the rescue and reunion efforts to try to get affected animals back to their families or into new forever homes. Some of those groups that have sprung into action include the North Shore Animal League of New York, Directors of Animal Welfare in California, and the Tri County Humane Society in Boca Raton, Florida just to name a few. And the Huffington Post has complied a list of resources to help people searching for their lost pets. Click here to view and see how you can help.
