HELP PEOPLE + ANIMALS RAVAGED BY THE LA FLOODS

As I am sure you know, Louisiana has been ravaged by floods as of late. People in the Baton Rouge area have lost homes, their loved ones and even their beloved pets. Some are homeless and trying to pick up the pieces. And over 40,000 homes were damaged or destroyed during this natural disaster.

But there are ways to help. The American Red Cross is accepting donations via text. Just type LAFLOODS to 90999 and a $10 donation will be charged to your cell phone bill. The Second Harvest Food Bank is in need of money and supplies to help feed people. And if volunteering is more your thing, Volunteer Louisiana dispatches groups of volunteers in natural disasters, and coordinates with relief groups on the ground.

And if you want to make a difference in the lives of animals, here is how:

Companion Animal Alliance in Baton Rouge needs volunteers and pet supplies like leashes and dog toys. Supplies and cash donations can be brought to the shelter. Monetary donations can also be made online.

Animal Rescue New Orleans is asking for volunteers to provide foster homes and lend a hand at the shelter.

Animal Helper of New Orleans has been caring for strays and is asking for supplies like towels, blankets, and leashes. Message them on Facebook for locations where you can drop off any of these items.

If you can, please reach out and help our friends in Louisiana. The devastation is overwhelming, and they need support. Thank you.
