Big news! At last night’s Golden Globe awards, nominee George Clooney revealed to the Associated Press that Bono, Sting, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys will be performing at Friday night’s “Hope for Haiti” live telecast benefit in New York. The event will be broadcast on over a dozen major and cable networks and will benefit the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam America, Partners in Health and Haitian native Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation. And what is really cool is that the participating artists songs will be available for purchase on i tunes with the proceeds going to these charity groups. At the GG’s, Clooney maintained that the purpose of doing the benefit was “to show the people of Haiti that the whole world is paying attention.”
