The Edge and Bono rocking out
This seems too good to be true, but it is happening, folks. Some of the greatest rock artists of all time are coming together over 2 historic nights, October 29th and 30th in New York City at Madison Square Garden, to honor the 25th anniversary of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Are you ready for the line-up? It includes: U2, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Friends, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Metallica, and Simon and Garfunkel. Pretty amazing, huh? The concert is being presented by American Express and lists some of its producers as mega star Tom Hanks, director Cameron Crowe, and Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner. Sure to be legendary, this concert will be taped and broadcast on HBO. And there will also be a charitable piece to this extraordinary event-all of the concerts’ proceeds will go towards building an endowment for the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and Museum. Word is that there will be huge surprises in store during the show which will include C,S,N and Friends sharing the stage with other California groups while Wonder and Franklin will collaborate with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra. Tickets go on sale to the general public on August 3rd, while American Express cardholders became eligible to purchase tickets with their AMEX cards as of July 27th.
